Né le 03 Décembre 1968 à Indianapolis, Indiana (Etats-Unis)
Brendan Fraser passe son enfance à la fois aux Etats-Unis et en Europe, puis s'installe finalement à Seattle pour terminer ses études. Après un court passage sur les planches, l'Américain débute sur grand écran au début des années 90. Son premier rôle d'importance intervient en 1992 avec le drame La Différence, dans lequel il partage l'affiche avec Matt Damon et Chris O'Donnell.
Le début de carrière du comédien, placé sous le sceau du drame, est un peu trompeur, même si sa prestaion dans Gods and Monsters lui vaut de nombreux éloges. Brendan Fraser se spécialise en effet plutôt dans le registre comique, son visage bonhomme très expressif faisant notamment recette dans Radio Rebels (1994) et surtout George de la jungle (1997), où il campe un Tarzan pour le moins décalé.
En 1999, Brendan Fraser connaît la gloire internationale grâce à son personnage d'aventurier dépassé par les évènements dans La Momie, rôle repris deux ans plus tard dans Le Retour de la momie. Toujours très attaché à la comédie, le comédien s'illustre dans le Endiablé de Harold Ramis ainsi que dans le film loufoque Monkeybone et le film d'animation Les Looney Tunes passent à l'action. En 2003, il tient la vedette de The Quiet American, thriller de Phillip Noyce où il donne la réplique à Michael Caine.
